Conference with up to five other callers

Number of Conference Callers

You can have up to five other callers on a conference call, regardless of whether they are internal or external to Virginia Tech.

Initiating a Conference Call

  1. Call the first person who will participate in the conference call or make sure you are on an active call.
  2. Press the Conf softkey.
  3. Dial the number of someone who will take part in the conference call.
  4. Once they answer, press the Join softkey. At this point you are on a conference call.

Adding People to a Conference Call

To add additional callers to the conference call:

  1. Press the Add softkey.
  2. Dial the number of the person that you want to add to the conference call.
  3. Once they answer, press the Join softkey.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 above for each caller that you want to add.

Notes on Conferencing

  • The number of other callers on the conference call is the number next to the "CONFERENCE" call appearance.
  • If the initiator of the conference call hangs up or presses the End Call softkey, then the conference call will continue for remaining participants.

Dropping Someone from a Conference Call

You can only drop the most recent caller you added to the conference call.

  1. Make sure you are on an active conference call.
  2. Press the Drop softkey.
