911 Information

To be activated for the UC Mobility service, first read and agree to the 911 Acknowledgment Statement. As described more fully in that statement, computer-based phone services have inherent limitations with connecting to location-specific services, such as the emergency response services accessed by dialing 911. In the event of an emergency, if possible use a land line to call 911. Use of a softphone to call 911 is strongly discouraged if another phone is available. Softphone technology may not provide the most timely or accurate location data and calls may be routed to the wrong emergency response center, or the emergency response center may make errors when determining your location. If you must use a softphone to report an emergency, be prepared to tell the dispatch operator your physical location.
